How To Gain Wisdom And Become Wiser »

Get wisdom. Get understanding. Don’t forget it. – Proverbs 4:5

There’s no particular method for gaining wisdom. Wisdom can be gained almost everywhere and anytime. Even if we quiet our mind, remove our self from the outer world, we can gain wisdom from the silence within us.

Experience can give us wisdom. It does not have to be personal experience, it can be from others. We cannot go through every experience by our self. Life’s short but we have unlimited amount of learning capability. Thus we can learn and gain wisdom through experience of other people. Every experience should be counted, good or bad.

If we constantly learn from experiences, we will gain wisdom and become wiser. From experience, we learn to think better and make better choices in life. By thinking better and making better choices, we improve our life. By improving our life, we make good life. That’s the purpose of wisdom, to help us make good life. To make good life is then the purpose of our life.

Our lifes are made by the choices we took. People don’t seem to realize this. They don’t analyze their circumstances yet they blame outer things if anything goes wrong. A wise person will analyze the whole circumstance from the start to the end. He knows he creates or attracts every circumstance he experience.

Observation gives us more wisdom. Observe people and everything that happens around us and them. Although wisdom can be found everywhere, it’s beyond ordinary physical senses. We must look and see beyond to gain wisdom and be wiser. Every circumstance or event have its lesson for us, nothing is perfectly bad or good.

This world is created in balance. For every dark side, there’s an equal amount of light side. Wise people look at the light side more than the dark side. At the same time, they don’t ignore the dark side. They look at the dark side only once to find the reason it exist in their life. A wise person knows exactly how to extract wisdom from both light and dark.

Young or old, both of them provides wisdom to one another. Every human has something to teach and every human has something to learn. Learning and gaining wisdom is never ending process. When people are talking, we should listen to them and find out what we can gain from their talking or behavior. Wilson Mizner have said “A good listener is not only popular everywhere, but after awhile, he knows something.”
